CIS Licensed Partners: Creating Magic at Mabelvale

Mabelvale Middle School is part of CIS’ Licensed Partner program with Little Rock Public School District (LRSD). The district joined the CIS Network as a Licensed Partner in 2023 and has since expanded into 10 schools in the district, serving nearly 5,000 students.

Restorative Practices Help Two Friends Repair a Strained Relationship

“I believe doing restorative work between students is an important step into students learning to forgive,” said CIS of Chicago Senior Student Supports Manager Juanita Herrera. “Forgiveness is not just needed for the other person, but for yourself. Learning to forgive others helps build character and helps free yourself from any anger.”

Ja-Mez is about to graduate with his class at Stone Mountain High School – an event that seemed impossible just two years earlier. A childhood tragedy that left him angry and disaffected threatened to derail his life until he came under the wing of Darrell Smith, a caring, empathetic CIS site coordinator working in the school.
